Online Donation for Cows
Hindus worship the Desi cow, and regard it as an abode of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Cow worship is believed to be one way to attain liberation or Moksha. Hindu scriptures praise the glory of the cow as s sacred and auspicious of all being. Desi Cow conservation and breeding has emerged as a silent revolution in India, during the last decade or so, as many people and organizations have realized the impending disaster to this fragile community of animals due to multiple environmental, socio-economic and political factors. Many of the desi cow breeds are on the verge of extinction as cow rearing is no more a part of the household as it used to be earlier. Families in urban or rural areas no more afford to domesticate cows due to the scarcity of space, fodder and the labor involved in rearing the cows. The current trend in Go-Seva or cow worship has shifted from home to Goshalas, mostly run by some religious organizations or the Government. People who are interested in serving the cows donate money to the organizations managing the goshalas. Provision for online donation makes it highly useful for both the donors and the organizations receiving the donations. Hence, most organizations owning goshalas receive funds through an online donation.
Why Online Donation for Cows?
Cow worship is part and parcel of many Hindu rituals. Caring for the cows is considered as a noble act and hence a majority of the Hindus see the cow as a Sacred Animal and intend to serve the animal during auspicious occasions and during festivals dedicated to cows. But the practical constraints withhold people from venturing into the domestication of cows, both in the rural and urban scenario. This has brought a situation where it is difficult to get a cow for worship on special occasions among orthodox Hindus. In order to avoid this situation, many of the organizations rearing and breeding cows offer provisions for online donation for cows by the devotees. This provision provides ample advantages for all the stakeholders like the goshalas, the devotees as well as the cows. The Goshalas have succeeded in putting a break on the extinction of desi cow breeds to a greater extent by their noble service of conservation, rearing, and breeding of indigenous cow breeds. Demand for cow products like milk, curd, ghee, cow urine, and cow dung and other products derived from them are on the surge, which makes the prospects of goshalas bright. Desi breeds of cows find abode in goshalas. Populations of many of the breeds on the brink of extinction have been rejuvenated through the committed efforts of the goshalas.
