If command of Guru is Guru himself, then can I disrespect Guru’s body?
We may go to a Shiva temple to worship. In the temple, though we worship the ‘Shivalinga”, we also keep the sanctum sanctorum of the temple neat and clean. This is out of respect to Lord Shiva. We do not consider the temple premises as a stone and mud construction. It is in fact considered the dwelling place of the Lord. Likewise, a saint’s physical body is a temple, inside which the Lord dwells. Our scriptures mention: “Khalu Dharma Sadhnam Idam Shariram”. To succeed in life, we need a healthy body and an intelligent mind. The Guru’s body is a store-house of spiritual vibrations and the disciple must accept it as the sacred temple of the Lord.
