Guruji, you have taught us various spiritual disciplines, how can I choose one that is most suitable for my spiritual growth?

The purpose of all spiritual disciplines taught at our ashram, is to transform the soul, to help it to evolve further, and further. If you have attended the various spiritual discipline classes that we have conducted here, then you must practise each one of them, for a period of twenty-one days and at the end of each set of spiritual discipline, you will be able to understand as to which one is most suitable for your spiritual growth. Constant practice of any spiritual discipline makes your life easy and peaceful, no matter what kind of ‘prarabdas’ you may have accumulated from your past lives.

You may set up a time period for your practices, preferably in the morning hours of ‘brahma muhurta’. Take up any one of the disciplines that you can comfortably practice for a period of twenty-one days without a single day of absence. Every day, after you finish your practice, spend at least fifteen minutes in silence with closed eyes, and examine yourself. You will observe a feeling of peace prevading your entire being. Every action that you do positively, helps you to settle your mind and be one with the universal consciousness.

Any disturbing encounters that you may come across on the spiritual path will not be because of the path. These are mostly on account of your mind. The spiritual discipline by itself is very simple, but because your mind starts agitating, the discipline may become complicated. You need Guru’s grace to stop the agitation of your mind. Just surrender yourself, and offer all your troubles and agitations at the Guru’s feet. If you allow this to happen, then whatever spiritual discipline you may have undertaken, you will achieve your desired goal.
