Guruji, what is the effect of chanting Mantras. How does it affect us, what is the logic behind it?
Mantra-chanting generates divine vibrations within the body of the person who is chanting and also that of the person who is listening to the mantra sincerely. Mantra is actually Daivika Shakti-Divine Power. It is a mass of radiant energy. It transforms the mind by producing a particular thought movement. As the mantra is uttered, it produces rythmic vibrations which help in regulating the Pancha-Koshas or five sheaths of the human being Annamaya Kosha, Pranamaya Kosha, Manomaya Kosha, Vijnanamaya Kosha, Anandamaya Kosha.
The divine vibrations generated by mantras penetrate the physical and astral bodies of patients and remove the root causes of sufferings. They also fill the cells with ‘satva’ i.e divine energy. These vibrations have the power to destroy the bacteria and viruses in our system, and to regenerate/ revive the cells and tissues in our bodies.
Mantra chanting helps to check the natural tendencies of the human mind to run after sensuous objects. When a mantra is repeated continuously with faith and devotion, it awakens and increases the Daivika Shakti of the Sadhaka. Continuous chanting of mantras also bestows upon the Sadhaka, all the virtues and powers of the deity whose mantra is chanted.
When Surya Mantra is chanted repeatedly, it will bestow you with health, vitality, and brilliance. If you have any diseases related to your eyes or body, they will be cleared. When Subrahmanya Mantra is chanted repeatedly, it will enable you to succeed in any venture that you undertake, and will also drive away all negetivities that may be associated with your mission. When Hanuman Mantra is chanted repeatedly, it will bestow upon you victory and strength in all spheres of life. When you chant the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra repeatedly, it will save you from calamities and diseases, and will also bestow upon you good health, longevity. Intense Japa will help you to attain Self-Realisation in this life itself.
