Brahman or Supreme Consciousness is the only Truth. Brahman is the highest Good. There is neither good nor bad here. All is Maya, the illusory world of ours. This world, created by Brahman, consists of three Gunas- Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. Sattva stands for purity and goodness, Rajas stands for activity and passion, while Tamas stands for darkness and inertia. Rajas and Tamas are the main causes of chaos and disruption in this world. Desires and passion stem from Rajas while negativity and bad actions stem from Tamas.

Since only Brahman exists and the rest is illusion, it should be easy to understand that the bad is mere appearance and not reality. The bad exists in order to glorify the good. Good and bad are not two independent things, they are two sides of the same coin. There is no absolute good or absolute bad, these are just relative terms. Always see the good in everything. Rise above good and bad and work towards attaining the highest Goodness- the Brahman.
