Can we meditate with the eyes open?
Yes, though it is difficult to meditate with the eyes open. It is easier to practice meditation with the eyes closed. People with good will power can certainly do so. With open eyes, the external objects are constantly seen and difficulty arises in going beyond the mind and the intellect. Also, there are chances that some of our delusions may appear before our eyes and the sadhaka may get frightened. Ideally, in order to facilitate the practice, it is better to close the eyes during meditation.
